Also called the Aegean Lydian scale.
A little history
D Aegean is built on the Lydian mode. MAG Instruments explains that the Lydian sound comes from raising the 4th note by a half step. On a D pan that gives D E F# G# A B C#. The same page says the Aegean is a major scale whose sound falls between major and minor, and that it is named for the Aegean Sea.
How to read a chord card
- The darker colour is the root; the lighter colour, the other chord tones.
- The line under the pan names the notes, root first, with their field numbers.
- Orange U numbers and dashed circles are bottom-shell notes, played from inside the pan.
