A little history
D Amara is built from D natural minor with the sixth note left out: D A C D E F G A C. Isthmus Instruments says the names Celtic and Amara are mostly used interchangeably, and that almost every maker has a version of it. It calls the scale intuitive for beginner players. MAG Instruments ties both names to D natural minor and lists them among the most popular handpan scales. Some makers sell it as D Celtic Minor.
How to read a chord card
- The darker colour is the root; the lighter colour, the other chord tones.
- The line under the pan names the notes, root first, with their field numbers.
